Stimulation of smooth muscle in the oestrogen sensitised uterus.
Action on the mammary gland stimulates milk let down.
Indications
Uterine inertia during parturition, postpartum bleeding, retained placenta and metritis, uterine involution after manual correction of prolapsed uterus.
Contraindications
Do not use in case of dystocia caused by abnormal presentation or foetal size or in other situations where vaginal delivery is contraindicated.
Dosage and administration
Administration by deep intramuscular injection:
Mares, cows, sows ……… 1 – 4 ml
Ewes, goats …………….. 0.2 – 1 ml
Dogs ………………………. 0.2 – 1 ml
Cats …………………….. 0.2 – 0.5 ml
Recommended dose for intravenous injection: 25% of intramuscular dose, diluted 1:10 in sterile water for injections.
Where speed of onset is not a priority, the product may be given by the subcutaneous route.
Precautions and warnings
Only administer when cervix is confirmed to be dilated, either naturally or by prior administration of oestrogens. Care should be taken to avoid accidental self-injection. Should self-injection occur, medical advice should be sought immediately. Women, particularly during lactation or the later stages of pregnancy, should avoid handling the product as it could cause smooth muscle (e.g. uterine) contraction.

None.
Storage conditions:
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Store among 15º to 30ºC (59°-86°F). Do not freeze.
Keep out of reach of children and domestic animals.
Reseal after each use.

Multidose vials of 100 mL.
